Hiring through a platform

Hiring through a freelance platform? You can hire me there.

Your procurement team may already have approved a platform, you may want payment to go through one, or you may simply have an account already. Whichever it is, you do not need to set me up as a new supplier. You can hire me for hands-on C#/.NET development on YunoJuno, Malt, Freelancer.com or Upwork, and the way the work is done stays the same.

Where to find me

The platforms you can hire me on

Use whichever one your organisation already works with. Each link opens my profile on that platform in a new tab.

If your organisation uses a platform that is not listed here, contact me directly and we can work out the simplest way to proceed.

What stays the same

The same way of working, wherever you hire me

A platform changes how the contract and payment are handled. It does not change how the work is done, or who does it.

Written scope first

A written statement of what is to be built, what done means, and what the price is, agreed before any work starts.

Fixed price

You know the cost before any work begins. If I underestimate, I absorb the difference, not you.

Handover

The work is handed over working and documented: at minimum a README covering what was built, how to configure it, and how to run it.

30-day defect warranty

If something I built breaks within 30 days and the cause is in my code, I fix it at no charge. Counted from sign-off.

You deal with me directly throughout, the same person you would deal with if you hired me yourself, and the work is delivered 100% remotely.

What the platform decides

Fees and payment are the platform’s own

When you hire through a platform, its terms govern the contract, any fees it charges, and how and when payment is made. Those are set by the platform, not by me, so check them on the platform before you start.

The payment terms on my pricing page apply when you hire me directly. On a platform, the platform’s payment terms apply instead.

What suits a platform hire

Work you can already describe

Freelance work is for building, fixing or extending something you have already defined: what should change, which systems are involved, and how you will know it is finished. You can see the kinds of job I take on under what I fix.

Not sure yet what is wrong, or what to do about it? Nobody can price a fix for that until it has been diagnosed, and diagnosis is what Consultancy is for.

Getting started

How to start

  1. Message me on the platform your organisation uses, with a short description of the work.
  2. If it’s a bounded job, a written scope and fixed price follow.
  3. You accept the quote or ask questions — no work starts until you say yes.

Would you rather talk first, or hire me without a platform? Use the freelance contact form instead.
