- Senior or lead backend developer on a C#/.NET product or platform.
- Integration work: system to system, third-party APIs, Microsoft Graph.
- Production reliability and support engineering on systems already live.
- Legacy modernisation, including Microsoft Access and older .NET, where the brief is "make this safe to change" rather than "rewrite it".
- Workflow automation for operational teams, where requirements come from the people doing the work rather than from a specification.
Roles I do not fit
Saying this early saves everyone a submission.
- Anything requiring on-site or hybrid presence. This is not negotiable rather than a preference.
- Front-end-led roles. I build backends and the pipelines around them.
- Inside-IR35 engagements are possible but not preferred, and the rate assumption changes.
- Team lead or line management roles. I deliver; I do not run people.

What you can send a client
Technical stakeholders usually want a work sample rather than a CV summary. These are public, and each one describes a real system with its architecture and the reasoning behind it.
Background, in brief: Lloyds Banking Group (2010 to 2014, workforce planning tooling used across UK Group Operations), Communisis (2014 to 2022, document capture and .NET), then product engineering on a large-scale document operations programme through successive TUPE transfers (SPS, Paragon UK, Tech Mahindra) to November 2025. PageTech Solutions Limited since February 2026.

How I communicate
The thing that actually goes wrong on contracts is not capability, it is silence. So:
- I respond to a brief within 1–2 working days, including when the answer is no.
- I tell you about a problem when I find it, not at the status meeting.
- You deal with one accountable contact from first discussion through to sign-off.
- If a client relationship is not working, I will tell you early, before it becomes a surprise for either of us.

What kind of roles are a good fit?
Senior C#/.NET backend work: operational systems, workflow engineering, integrations, production reliability, maintainability, and document processing & ECM. The strongest fit is where a client depends on a system that has become difficult to understand, support or trust. See what makes a good fit.
Do you work fully remotely?
Yes. I only support fully remote delivery — see Remote Delivery for how this works in practice.
Will you consider hybrid or onsite roles?
No. Delivery is 100% remote only. If a role requires onsite attendance, regular office presence, or a hybrid working arrangement, there is no fit — and it is better for both of us to establish that early rather than at offer stage.
Are you open to outside IR35 contracts?
Yes. Outside IR35 is the preferred arrangement, and engagements are structured with this in mind from the start. Work is delivered against a defined Statement of Works — with a clear scope, specific deliverables, and an arms-length commercial relationship. A right of substitution is available where appropriate.
What does a typical engagement look like?
