Fixed scope before work starts
For smaller direct projects, PageTech works best when the outcome can be described clearly: what should change, which systems are involved, and how you will know it is finished. You will get a written scope or quote before work starts. If the work is too uncertain, the first step may be a paid scoping review rather than open-ended development.
Best for useful, bounded improvements — not open-ended cheap support.

Exploratory / uncertain scope
Quoted after scoping
Applied to time-and-materials work where scope is genuinely uncertain at the outset. Short investigative work is priced as specialist time, and a time cap and price are agreed in writing before work starts.

Most engagements are quoted as fixed-price against a written scope. You know the cost before any work begins. Most common for integrations, automation, and project delivery.

Day-by-day delivery
Quoted after scoping
For day-by-day work where the task list is defined but duration is fluid. The number of days and price are confirmed in writing before work starts, and work is scheduled to suit; a longer block with scheduling flexibility is priced for sustained delivery.

Flexibility
Urgency and scheduling flexibility shape the quote
Quotes aren’t off a fixed menu. A hard deadline or an immediate start costs more to schedule around, and that shows in the quote. If your work can wait for a gap in my schedule rather than jump the queue, say so when you get in touch — that kind of infill work is genuinely useful to me, and the flexibility is reflected in the quote.

What every engagement includes
Written scope and quote
No verbal agreements. A written statement of what is to be built, what done means, and what the price is. Signed off before work starts.
Source code, yours to keep
All code belongs to you. Committed to your repository or delivered in a zip. No ongoing licence fee for code I wrote.
30-day defect warranty
If something I built breaks within 30 days and the cause is in my code, I fix it at no charge. Counted from handover day.
Documentation
At minimum: a README covering what was built, how to configure it, and how to run it. Enough for another developer to take over without calling me.
Admin
Payment terms
- Invoice issued on completion of each milestone or on final handover.
- Standard payment terms: 30 days from invoice date.
- Bank transfer (BACS/Faster Payments). Details on the invoice.
- VAT invoices issued for all UK engagements. VAT no. 514295790.
- A deposit may be requested for larger engagements.
- No travel or expense costs — all work is delivered 100% remotely.
