Fixed-price reviews
Find out what is fragile before you pay to fix it
Three fixed-scope reviews, one for each kind of system that tends to cause the worry. Each one ends in a written findings report you can act on, whether or not I do the work that follows.
The first step is a free 20-minute call, then a fixed-price quote: book the call or describe the problem.
Which review fits your problem
Choose by the system you are worried about, not by the name of the review. If you are not sure, describe the symptom on the call and we choose together.
The three side by side
| Review | The question it answers | What it covers | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legacy Health Check | How risky is this ageing system, and what needs attention first? | One system, and up to three conversations of around 45 minutes with the people who know it best | Price on enquiry |
| Integration Review | What would break first if something changed? | Up to five integration points, worked from your code, configuration and documentation | Price on enquiry |
| Backend/API Audit | Is this backend or API safe to keep building on? | One application: a single repository that builds and deploys as one service | Price on enquiry |
If what you have is bigger than that, I say so on the call, and we either pick the part that worries you most or I quote for the wider piece before anything starts.
What you get, whichever you choose
- A written findings report with prioritised recommendations: what needs attention first, what can wait, and why.
- A short walkthrough call to talk through the findings.
- Seven days after the walkthrough to send me questions by email, and I answer them.
- The findings within ten working days of me getting access.
- Findings that are yours whether or not you commission the work that follows them.
Each review is an assessment, not a rebuild. Fixing what it finds is a separate piece of work, scoped and quoted on its own, and only if you want it. I will not push a rewrite where a smaller fix will do.
What I need from you
Read-only access to the code, whatever documentation exists, and someone who can answer questions for about an hour in total. If there are no logs or monitoring, that becomes a finding rather than a blocker. Working with your IT team explains how access is granted.
How the price works
Price on enquiry. Each review is a fixed piece of work with a defined deliverable, so I quote it as a fixed price, in writing, after a free 20-minute call, once I understand roughly what is in scope. You know the cost before any work begins. See how pricing works.
How to start
- Book a free 20-minute call, or describe the problem in writing. Describe the symptom, not the diagnosis.
- We agree which review fits, and which system it covers first.
- I send a fixed-price quote. Nothing starts until you have agreed it in writing.
- You give me read-only access, and the findings follow within ten working days.
- We walk through the findings, and you decide what, if anything, happens next.

Frequently asked questions
Which review should I choose?
Choose by the system you are worried about. The Legacy Health Check is for an ageing system that still works but depends on one person or nobody fully understands. The Integration Review is for the points where your systems pass data to each other or to third parties. The Backend/API Audit is for a C#/.NET backend or API you want a second opinion on before building further. If you are not sure, describe the symptom on the free 20-minute call and we agree which one fits.
How much does a review cost?
Price on enquiry. Each review is a fixed piece of work with a defined deliverable, so it is quoted as a fixed price, agreed in writing after a free 20-minute call once I understand roughly what is in scope. You know the cost before any work begins. Fixing anything the review finds is quoted separately. See how pricing works.
Am I committed to more work after the review?
No. There is no obligation to go on to build work after a review, and you can use the findings internally first. The written findings are yours whether or not you commission the work that follows them.
How long does a review take?
You have the findings within ten working days of me getting access. A short walkthrough call follows, and you then have seven days to send me questions by email.
