Knowledge Transfer
Knowledge Transfer
Technology is easier to support when people understand it.
Many technical challenges are not solely technical — often, the challenge is understanding: how a system works, why decisions were made, how workflows operate, what happens when something changes. When that understanding is missing, organisations can become dependent on a small number of individuals, fragmented documentation, or assumptions that may no longer be accurate.
PageTech Solutions helps organisations improve understanding of systems, workflows and technical decisions through practical knowledge transfer, documentation and collaborative technical delivery. Delivery is provided directly by Jamie Page on a 100% remote basis.
Knowledge is part of the system
Without sufficient understanding, support becomes more difficult, changes become riskier, investigations take longer, and decision-making becomes less confident. Technology becomes easier to maintain when knowledge is shared, documented and accessible.
Typical knowledge transfer challenges
PageTech Solutions is often suited to situations where:
- Important system knowledge is concentrated in a few people
- Documentation does not reflect operational reality
- Teams need a clearer understanding of existing systems
- Work is being handed from one team to another
- Support responsibilities are changing
- Technical decisions have lost historical context
- New team members need help understanding complex environments
Experience sharing technical and operational knowledge
A significant part of Jamie Page's experience involves helping teams and stakeholders understand systems directly, including user training, system rollout support, stakeholder demonstrations, documentation creation, implementation support, production support handover, and supporting adoption of internal systems and tools — helping teams understand not just what a system does, but how and why it supports operational processes.
How PageTech helps
- System documentation
- Technical explanation
- Handover support
- Workflow knowledge capture
- Operational context sharing
The objective is not simply to produce documentation — it's improved understanding.
Reducing dependency on individual knowledge
Many systems appear stable until a key individual changes role or moves on. Knowledge transfer helps reduce that dependency by making important information easier to access, understand and share. The goal is not to remove expertise — it's to make expertise easier for others to benefit from.

Discuss knowledge transfer
If knowledge about a system or process needs to be shared, documented or handed over, a short conversation is usually the best place to begin. Delivery is 100% remote.

What does knowledge transfer involve in practice?
System documentation, technical explanation, handover support, workflow knowledge capture and operational context sharing. Jamie's experience includes user training, system rollout support, stakeholder demonstrations, documentation creation, implementation support and production support handover. The objective is improved understanding, not just documents: helping your team grasp how and why a system supports operational processes, not only what it does.
Can you help when all the knowledge about a system sits with one person?
Yes. That is one of the most common situations: important system knowledge concentrated in a few people, and documentation that no longer reflects operational reality. Knowledge transfer reduces that dependency by making important information easier to access, understand and share. The goal is not to remove expertise but to make it easier for others in your organisation to benefit from it.
Do you support handovers between teams or suppliers?
Yes. Typical situations include work being handed from one team to another, support responsibilities changing, technical decisions that have lost their historical context, and new team members needing help with complex environments. Handover support and production support handover are part of the service, and everything is delivered 100% remotely by Jamie Page, with no delivery layer in between.
How is knowledge transfer work priced?
A defined handover or documentation exercise can be quoted as a fixed price agreed in writing after a short scoping step. Where the work is open-ended, such as ongoing explanation sessions or support during a transition, it is charged at £80 to £100 per hour or £400 to £500 per day ex VAT. A free 20-minute consultation is available to discuss what needs to be captured or handed over.
